Preface
IN THE BEGINNING of the European invasion of the New World Continent lies one of the tentacles of human destruction. That is human slavery. We must be able to look at this institution for what it was and those that brought it to us, before we can try to understand this institution. There are few in the world today that can say they understand, if you haven’t lived it, how can you say you really understand it?
Slavery has not only affected one race but all races, regardless if they were the “masters” or the “slaves”. We must understand this to ensure this institution in any form isn’t born again with our children and their children’s children.
This research was started to recognize George McDonald, a Black man who served Missouri in the Confederate States of America.
It didn’t take long to understand there was more to his story than being George McDonald, also known as “Speed”. It is a story of a whole class of people regardless of race.
It is my intent for you, the readers, to take this information and do further research so you too will have a better understanding of slavery and, maybe, people in general. Only then can we try and mend the distrust between all races
Also take this information further to learn about the War of Northern Aggression, how a Country that disobeyed their Constitution and forced their will on another. Also look into your genealogy. You will find it to be fun.
